PARIS — After his appearance at the César Awards in Paris stirred up plenty of online controversy, Jim Carrey sat down with the Associated Jest to clear the air concerning his new look.
After Carrey showed up to the French film awards with a clean-shaven, sleek new look, fans quickly took to social media to voice their opinions, with some even going so far as to suggest that Carrey may have been cloned or replaced with a look-a-like.
"Yeah, I might've had a little work done," Carrey told reporters after the awards ceremony, "But so what? People are acting like I haven't already been a stone-cold baddie for decades now. From my big ole bubble butt to my beautiful, luscious lips. So, I don't get why people are surprised to see me show up with even more bodacious bodily enhancement, and I don't think it should cause so much controversy."
Carrey went on to explain that not only is he no stranger to going under the knife, but it's actually become a bit of a tradition for him.
"Since the '90s, every time I wrap a big project, I get a little work done. Every movie I do changes me, little by little, and the cosmetic procedures serve as an important physical representation of those changes. I got the BBL after we wrapped shooting on Ace Ventura. After the press tour for The Mask, I got the lip filler done. It's fun, and I'm honestly shocked that people haven't caught on sooner."
At press time, Carrey is considering going in for a rhinoplasty once he finished work on Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
